Qualification:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, Safety, or a related field, or equivalent educational background.
  • Familiarity with hazard assessments and their importance in ensuring workplace safety.
  • Good problem-solving skills and creative approach to new ideas.
  • Motivation and great attitude.
  • Math skills/High level of accuracy.
  • Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
  • Proficiency working with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present and interact with large groups.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and manage workload independently.
  • Be enrolled in post-high school education for the Fall 2024 semester.
  • Minimum of 1 completed year in related field (preferred).
  • Be considered a full-time student (12 credits or more).
  • Be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the safety department to schedule hazard assessments.
  • Take charge of leading meetings with production and maintenance workers to conduct hazard assessments.
  • Document assessment data using Excel.
  • Analyze the data and categorize it based on risk levels.
  • Provide assistance for improvement projects associated with hazard assessments.
  • Recalculate assessment totals upon project completion.
  • Respond to Plant Safety Projects/Opportunities as directed by the Safety Manager.
  • Support maintenance projects and installations.
  • Apply knowledge of industrial processes, chemistry, physics, psychology, safety laws, and industrial health to achieve optimal results.
  • Determine the requirements for safety devices and device installations, among other tasks.

The internship will be conducted in Marinette, Wisconsin, United States.
