Associate Project Officer Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Associate Project Officer to join our dynamic team at UNESCO. The Associate Project Officer will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects and initiatives related to UNESCO’s core areas of focus. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to international efforts in education, culture, science, and communication while working alongside a diverse group of professionals and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities of Associate Project Officer:
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of UNESCO’s projects in line with its mission and objectives.
- Support project development activities, including the preparation of proposals, reports, and budget management.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and financial guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, ensuring accurate and timely records.
- Liaise with internal and external partners, governments, and stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships and ensure smooth project implementation.
- Contribute to the preparation of communications and visibility materials to promote the organization’s work.
- Assist in evaluating project outcomes and producing impact assessments.
Required Qualifications as Associate Project Officer:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, international relations, social sciences, project management, etc.).
- At least 2 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in an international development or UNESCO-related environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in [language(s) required].
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Knowledge of UNESCO’s priorities and programs is a plus.
