Job Details:

Job Title: Public Information Officer

Job Place: NAIROBI

Education & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public administration, governance, political science, climate/environmental science, environmental policy, soil science, or environmental engineering (or a related field).
  • University degree in public international relations (or a relevant social science).
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of X years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, information management, statistics, and project management.
  • Proven track record of using data to inform decision-making, strategy development, and execution.
  • Experience working within the United Nations system (a plus).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in version control tools like Git.
  • Strong database management skills (SQL preferred).
  • Programming experience with Python (a plus).

Languages:

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process improvement mechanisms for data analytics tasks, ensuring technically sound project execution.
  • Design and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analysis strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Generate insightful reports, dashboards, or other visualization tools to effectively communicate findings to management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across UNGSC Services to identify data analytics needs and support data-driven projects related to climate resilience.
