Qualifications:
- Full-time student majoring in engineering technology or a related field (e.g., electrical technology, mechanical engineering technology).
- An understanding of basic automation principles, including PLCs and control systems (preferred).
- A strong mechanical background with proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics and mechanical drawings (preferred).
- Ability to learn new processes, software, hardware, and operating systems by using available resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with modifications, upgrades, troubleshooting, basic programming, diagnosis, and repair of automated processes and equipment throughout East Penn’s facilities.
- Support in PLC program development, layouts, ordering parts, and overseeing work completion of new and existing East Penn equipment and processes.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving process control issues, ensuring efficient and smooth production operations.
- Utilize technical skills to transfer files on the East Penn network for archiving purposes.
- Assist and train others on basic process control concepts and procedures (may vary).
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
