Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an approved associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in nursing
- Completion of foundational nursing courses (Fundamentals of Nursing, Pharmacology, Adult Health 1)
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training
- Strong commitment to patient care and empathy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
Responsibilities
- Assist registered nurses with providing basic patient care activities.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the nurse
- Collect patient specimens and assist with medication administration.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients
- Help maintain a clean and organized patient environment
- Document patient care activities in electronic medical records (EMR)
- May participate in educational activities and workshops offered by Southeast Health
