Description:

This comprehensive course introduces participants to various partnership models, financing approaches, and resource mobilization strategies at the country level. It emphasizes the importance of engaging with diverse entities and implementing joint resource mobilization strategies to effectively implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Participants will gain the tools and knowledge necessary to identify financing flows from public, private, national, and international sources within a country. This understanding will enable them to strategically leverage available resources for sustainable development goals. The course also focuses on identifying private sector partnerships that create shared value while mitigating risks such as “greenwashing” or “bluewashing”. It explores innovative impact investment opportunities, including leveraging digitization, fintech, and new channels such as crowdfunding.

Furthermore, the course highlights the significance of resource mobilization for the UN itself within the broader financing context. It provides examples of successful joint resource mobilization initiatives implemented at the country level.

Objective:

Upon completion of this course, participants will:

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of financing flows in a country and the ability to strategically leverage them for sustainable development.
Possess the knowledge and frameworks to develop effective partnerships with the private sector.
Understand the role of the UN development system, particularly at the country level, in catalyzing and facilitating innovative financing for the 2030 Agenda.
Acquire the skills to articulate and implement joint resource mobilization strategies at the country level in support of the 2030 Agenda.

Course Methodology:

This instructor-led course incorporates lectures by subject matter experts, interactive exercises, and knowledge-sharing opportunities. Participants will engage in application-oriented learning methodologies, such as case studies, collaborative group exercises, team discussions, and dialogues with speakers.

Day 2: Leveraging Private Sector Partnerships for the 2030 Agenda.
Day 3: Unlocking Innovative Financing for Sustainable Development at the Country Level.
Day 4: Joint Resource Mobilization Strategies for Successful Financing of Sustainable Development.

Heads of UN Country Offices, UN personnel, particularly partnership specialists, innovative financing specialists/officers, economists, and resource mobilization officers at the country level.
