Woods Hole Summer Student Fellowship 2024 USA (Fully Funded)

Summary:

The Woods Hole Summer Student Fellowship in the United States is currently accepting applications. This highly regarded fellowship offers fully funded opportunities for undergraduate students to conduct research in the field of ocean sciences and engineering during the summer of 2024. Fellows will collaborate with sponsors to select and work on research projects and will have access to engaging talks, seminars, and an ocean sampling cruise. The fellowship includes a weekly stipend, travel allowance, housing, and the chance to connect with the vibrant Woods Hole scientific community. Students from around the world and those from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements and Qualifications:

– Applicants must be undergraduate students who will have completed their junior year before the fellowship period begins.
– International students and those from underrepresented groups in ocean science and engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.
– Students in three-year Bachelor’s degree programs should be in their second year, and those in five-year combined Bachelor/Master’s degree programs should be in their third year.
– Fellows are required to deliver a mid-summer oral progress report, prepare a written report of their research, and present their results in a public format.
– Attendance at the Summer Lecture Series and the Ethics in Science Workshop is mandatory for all fellows.
