Summary:

The assignment is for a Social Media Management and Community Engagement Officer in Ukraine, starting on April 10, 2024. The role aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions) and is hosted by UNDP Ukraine. It is an onsite assignment with a duration of 11 months, with the possibility of extension. The duties of the officer include developing and executing a social media strategy, creating engaging content for various platforms, managing content calendars, fostering community engagement, organizing online events, monitoring social media channels, compiling performance reports, coordinating with internal and external partners, responding to crises, staying updated on best practices, training staff members, providing support for projects and public activities, and performing assigned duties as required with a focus on gender equality and inclusion.

Location:

Kyiv, Ukraine

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Media, Communications, media literacy, countering disinformation, strategic communications.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and Working knowledge in English.
  • 3 years of experience in Advanced higher degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a relevant area, e.g. Journalism, Public relations, International Relations Strategic Communications, Political Science ;
  • Work experience in Ukrainian government agencies/bodies/project will be an advantage;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Pover point etc.) , design and photo editing applications (Canva, Photoshop, etc) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Sound security awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
