Empowering Economists and Statisticians in Public Sector Roles

Summary:

Transformative Work Experience: The scheme offers early-career economists and statisticians a transformative opportunity to serve as civil servants in various public sector institutions across low- and middle-income countries.

Application Requirements:

Academic and Professional Proficiency: Applicants must hold a master’s degree or PhD in economics, statistics, or a related field, demonstrate a keen interest in public policy, possess relevant experience, and have strong IT skills. Proficiency in English and preferably French is also required.

Fellowship Benefits:

Competitive Compensation: Fellows receive a tax-free salary of approximately £32,600 in the first year and £34,600 in the second year, including a housing allowance.

Fellowship Type:

Public Sector Placement: Fellows typically work in finance, planning, health, education ministries, central banks, statistics offices, or regulatory bodies.

Award Fellowships:

Conditional Upon Degree Completion: The awarding of fellowships is contingent on the successful completion of the applicant’s postgraduate degree.
