News Intern (Fall 2024)

This is an unpaid intern program offered by Sinclair Broadcast Group for Fall 2024. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment, learning the ins and outs of news production from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Must be attending an accredited college or university with a major in journalism, mass communications, communications, or a related field.
• Willing to commit approximately 15 hours per week for a 10-week period, typically starting in mid-September (hours may vary based on news programming schedules).
• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site at the designated Sinclair station (location will vary).

Responsibilities

• Interact and learn from various newsroom personnel, including reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers.
• Gain practical experience in different areas of news production, potentially including control room operation, story research and pitching, camera equipment usage, and news segment editing.
