Are you a budding inventor who is driven to advance climate technologies and renewable energy? This is your opportunity to apply to the NewGen Renewable Energy Accelerator program, which IRENA is launching for the second consecutive year!
What is the NewGen Accelerator Program?
By encouraging the creation and use of their creative ideas in the fields of climate change and sustainable energy, the NewGen Accelerator program equips young people to take the lead in the energy transition. It’s an international platform that highlights youth-led innovation and gives participants the resources—including tools, information, and support—they need to realize their ideas.
New Gen Renewable Energy Accelerator Program Highlights:
- Webinars, workshops, and mentorship by IRENA experts.
- Access to pitching events and investment matchmaking.
- Dedicated Climate Impact forecasting workshop.
- Tailored acceleration program in renewable energy and climate technology.
Eligibility Criteria of New Gen Renewable Energy Accelerator:
- Open to young people aged 18 to 35 from around the world.
- Start-up founders must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Start-ups should focus on renewable energy, climate adaptation, or climate mitigation technologies.
- Commitment to attend accelerator sessions for at least 16 hours per month.

- Selected participants will be announced on May 1, 2024.
