National Programme Specialist at UN Women in Sudan, Khartoum
UN Women stands for United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. It is grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls, the empowerment of women, and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action, and peace and security.
Additionally, UN Women Sudan’s Strategic Note (SN) 2018-2024 aims to consolidate efforts that contribute to gender equality and women’s empowerment in Sudan. Key strategies for the implementation of the country program include capacity building, advocacy, gender mainstreaming, evidence, information and data collection, as well as the use of media to highlight and inform the general population of Sudan.

Education & Qualifications Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required.
Work Experiences:
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Technical experience in GEWE.
- Possessing experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset.
- Having prior experience working in the UN System is an asset.
- Experience in leading/managing a team is an asset.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Arabic are required.
Career Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop programme strategies in the area of GEWE.
- Oversee the implementation and management of the Country Office Programme.
- Manage technical assistance and capacity development to project/programme partners.
- Ensure the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project.
- Manage the people and financial resources of the GEWE programme.
- Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies.
- Contribute to inter-agency coordination on GEWE to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in the country.
- Manage advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts.
