Education & Qualifications Requirements:
- Advanced University (Master) degree or University (Bachelor) degree in a relevant subject such as agriculture, communication studies, journalism, environmental sciences, nutrition and food security, social sciences, or a closely related field.
Work Experiences:
- For an Advanced University degree, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant subject such as agriculture, communication studies, journalism, environmental sciences, nutrition and food security, social sciences, or a closely related field.
- For University degree, a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant subject such as agriculture, communication studies, journalism, environmental sciences, nutrition and food security, social sciences, or a closely related field.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems expeditiously and pragmatically.
- Ability to use a logical and structured approach to collate, archive and synthesis information.
Languages:
- Working knowledge (level C) of English and the local languages (Pashto and/or Dari).
Career Key Responsibilities:
- Media Relations: Foster and maintain relations with Afghan media outlets and journalists, develop coproductions, facilitate interviews, pitch press releases, monitor media coverage, and update contact list regularly.
- Public Liaison: Develop relationships with national stakeholders, consult with FAO team leaders for guidance, coordinate with partners for communication products, and perform assigned duties.
- Communications: Translate and edit materials, conduct terminology research, collect information for case studies and social media content, prepare content calendar, contribute to communication plans, and ensure compliance with FAO standards.
