The role of the intern as a Test Engineer will involve close collaboration with Development Engineers to fulfill test requests, relay test results, and provide recommendations to Product Engineers regarding test statuses and updates. Interns will work alongside Engineers and Engineering Technicians to gain an understanding of test methods, industry standards, and test platforms for data acquisition. This internship opportunity is based in Claremont, NC, and falls within the Connectivity & Cable Solutions (CCS) business unit.
Responsibilities:
- Participating in the verification and validation testing of copper cable and connectivity components within a test laboratory.
- Collaborating with Test Engineers and Engineering Technicians to understand test methods, industry standards, and test platforms for data acquisition.
- Conducting mechanical, environmental, electrical, and transmission tests to assess products against industry and internal standards.
- Compiling test reports summarizing test results and distributing them to internal test requestors to support business decisions.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s (upcoming sophomores, juniors & seniors) or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Standout Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of LabView programming language and printed circuit board design.
