Mechanic Intern Opportunity

Summary:

Peckham Industries seeks a motivated and hands-on Mechanic Intern to join their Performance and Integration Team. This paid internship provides an enriching experience in heavy equipment maintenance and operations, allowing interns to contribute to real-world projects alongside experienced mechanics. Interns will gain industry best practices and apply their technical knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in an engineering, technical, or mechanical engineering technology program (or relevant major).
• A strong interest in mechanics and a passion for learning new skills.
• A basic understanding of mechanical principles and safe workshop practices.
• The ability to follow instructions, work independently, and adhere to safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation and availability to work during the program (June 3 – August 9, 2024, with flexible scheduling options).

Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced mechanics with preventive maintenance tasks on heavy equipment.
• Learn and practice safe procedures for torch welding and cutting.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on assigned equipment.
• Participate in hands-on projects with the Performance and Integration Team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
