Do you have a passion for public service and an interest in cognitive science? The City of Richmond’s Mayors Fellow Program offers a unique internship opportunity within the Memory Lab. As a Mayors Fellow Intern, you’ll gain valuable experience contributing to research on memory and cognition, while helping to shape public policy initiatives in Richmond, VA.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, or a related field
- Strong research skills and experience with data analysis (e.g., SPSS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- A demonstrated interest in aging and cognitive health (a plus)
- Commitment to public service and improving the lives of Richmond residents
Responsibilities
- Assist with research projects investigating memory and cognitive function
- Collect and analyze data from study participants
- Contribute to the development and implementation of research protocols
- Prepare research reports and presentations
- Participate in community outreach events related to memory and brain health (may vary by internship)
- Gain exposure to local government and policymaking through the Mayors Fellow Program
