Marketing/Communications Intern

Join Volunteers of America Upstate NY (VOA Upstate NY) and make a difference while gaining valuable marketing and communications experience! This internship provides hands-on learning opportunities to support VOA Upstate NY’s mission of helping individuals and families reach their full potential. You’ll contribute to creating compelling content, engaging audiences, and amplifying the organization’s impact in the community.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in non-profit organizations and social impact initiatives.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred).
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies.
  • Create engaging content for various channels, including social media, website, and print materials.
  • Manage and maintain VOA Upstate NY’s social media presence.
  • Support with event promotion and outreach efforts.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to track marketing campaign effectiveness.
