Summary:

The Loss and Damage Youth Grantmaking Council (LDYGC) invites applications from youth-led or youth-focused organizations that are working on concrete actions to address the impact of climate change in vulnerable communities. The grant cycle has four thematic areas and will fund selected projects up to $275,000.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must be youth-led or youth-focused organizations with a legal status in their country of operation. They must have a clear vision, mission, and objectives, as well as a track record of implementing projects related to loss and damage. They must also demonstrate financial and organizational capacity, as well as alignment with the LDYGC’s values and principles.

The grant will also amplify the voices and stories of the grantees and their communities, and showcase their innovative solutions to the global community.

The grant is open to projects from any region, but priority will be given to projects from the Global South, especially from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

The grant cycle has a total budget of $275,000, which will be distributed among the selected projects based on their needs and scope. The grant duration is 12 months, starting from July 2024. The grant will be administered by the LDYGC, which is composed of 10 young leaders from different regions and backgrounds, with the support of the CJRF and the Open Society Foundations.
