Summary:

The Loss and Damage Grant 2024 is a programme that funds projects that address the impact of climate change in vulnerable communities. The programme is run by the Loss and Damage Youth Grantmaking Council (LDYGC), in collaboration with the Climate Justice Resilience Fund (CJRF) and Open Society Foundations. The programme has four thematic areas: recovery and rehabilitation after extreme weather events, relocation and resettlement of communities affected by slow-onset events, addressing non-economic and economic loss and damage effects.

The programme is sponsored by the LDYGC, a group of young leaders who are passionate about climate justice. The programme is supported by the CJRF, a fund that supports community-led solutions to climate change, and Open Society Foundations, a network of foundations that promote human rights and democracy.

Eligibility:

The programme is open to individuals, groups, or organizations that have a project idea that fits one of the thematic areas. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old and based in Africa, Asia, or Latin America. Applicants must also show their motivation, innovation, and impact potential.
