As a Social Media Manager at UNDP, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the organization’s digital communication strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to manage UNDP’s social media channels, create engaging content, and amplify key messages related to development, climate action, gender equality, governance, and humanitarian efforts.

Main Responsibilities as Social Media Manager at UNDP:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with UNDP’s communication goals.
  • Manage and oversee UNDP’s official social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Create compelling, informative, and visually appealing content, including graphics, videos, and articles.
  • Monitor social media trends, engagement metrics, and analytics to optimize content performance.
  • Engage with online communities, respond to queries, and foster meaningful conversations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, UN agencies, and partners to promote campaigns and initiatives.

Required Qualifications as Social Media Manager at UNDP:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in managing social media platforms for a global organization, NGO, or development agency.
  • Strong content creation skills, including writing, graphic design, and video editing.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.) and analytics platforms.
  • Deep understanding of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and crisis communication.
  • Excellent storytelling abilities and a passion for development issues.
  • Multilingual skills (especially UN languages like French, Spanish, Arabic) are a plus.
