The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) sixth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers will convene from 9 – 13 January 2025 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the margins of the fifteenth session of the IRENA Assembly (11-13 January 2025). The Assembly is the Agency’s ultimate decision-making authority where Heads of State/Government, Ministers and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the energy transition.
The 2025 IRENA Youth Forum will strengthen youth networks and connect them with global thought leaders, government representatives, and IRENA experts. The Forum will create a space for young people to contribute to the Agency’s mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment to achieve climate objectives and advance the sustainable development agenda.
Through a series of interactive sessions, including open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the global energy discourse.
Who is eligible to apply?
IRENA Youth Forum is welcoming applicants from a broad audience, including students, mid career professionals, Climate change activists, Human rights activists, volunteers, and Renewable Energy interested. It seeks individuals with a passion for global issues who are eager to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.

The IRENA Youth Forum 2025 will be hosted in the picturesque city of Dubai,UAE, from December 20th to 23rd. Known for its rich history and vibrant culture, Porto offers an inspiring backdrop for this global event.
What is the eligibility criteria:
To be qualified for participation in the IRENA Youth Forum, must:
- Be between 18 and 50 years old.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to community service or activism.
- Have a keen interest in climate change , Environment and renewable energy issues.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse groups.
IRENA Youth Forum participants are expected to attend and participate in:
- High level plenaries.
- Experts Debates & Roundtables.
- Workshops and Seminars.
- Interactive activities.
- Youth Circles.
- High Level Bilateral meetings.
