Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field (or recent graduate)
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and youth challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport with youth
- Ability to de-escalate conflict situations and provide emotional support
- Commitment to cultural competency and working effectively with diverse populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with case management for assigned youth, including needs assessments, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Connect youth with appropriate resources and services (e.g., mental health counseling, educational opportunities)
- Facilitate individual and group interventions aimed at positive behavior change and skill development
- Advocate for youth in court settings and with other service providers (may vary)
- Participate in outreach activities to connect with youth in the community (may vary)
- Contribute to program development and evaluation efforts
