UNCCD Global Initiative Internship Overview
This internship provides young professionals, graduates, and students with a platform to work closely with experts on critical environmental issues, sustainable land management, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 15 – Life on Land.
Main highlights of UNCCD Global Initiative Internship:
As a UNCCD intern, you will:
- Support ongoing initiatives related to combating desertification and promoting sustainable land use.
- Conduct research and draft reports on topics such as biodiversity, climate change, and land restoration.
- Assist in organizing workshops, conferences, and global events.
- Engage with stakeholders and contribute to advocacy and awareness campaigns.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to UNCCD teams as needed.
UNCCD Global Initiative Internship Eligibility Criteria:
- Enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate program in environmental science, sustainable development, international relations, or a related field. Recent graduates may also apply.
- Strong interest in environmental issues, sustainable development, and international policy.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other UN languages (French, Spanish, etc.) is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural team environment.
