Hennepin County is seeking an enthusiastic IT Business Analyst Intern to join their team. This internship provides valuable experience in the field of IT business analysis, working at the intersection of business needs and technology solutions. You’ll gain exposure to various aspects of IT, including requirements gathering, process analysis, and project management.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a bachelor’s degree program in computer science, IT, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working in or around Community Corrections and/or Public Safety.
  • Crafting a variety of project artifacts such as project definitions, business requirements, feasibility studies, and recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with gathering and documenting business requirements for IT projects
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in project planning and execution
  • Create user stories and flowcharts
  • Conduct research and prepare presentations on IT-related topics
