Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a demonstrated interest in foreign policy, international studies, political science, international human rights law, conflict prevention, gender, or a related discipline is required.
- Excellent academic record.
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with social media platforms (a plus).
- A keen interest in current events and global human rights issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Monitor developments on timely international human rights issues to support HRI programming and the Director’s external engagements.
- Conduct research and compile data to support HRI projects and publications.
- Assist with drafting correspondence, reports, and other HRI materials.
- Track and analyze relevant legislation, policies, and human rights reports.
- Contribute to the development and curation of HRI’s social media presence (as applicable).
- Support HRI events and activities as needed.
