ESCWA- Information Technology Assistant

ESCWA provides a framework for the formulation and harmonisation of sectoral policies for member countries, a platform for congress and coordination, a home for expertise and knowledge, and an information observatory.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- University’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, IT project management.
- Five (5) years of experience in information technology or related area is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
- One year or more of experience in software development
- Experience working with the United Nations system
- Excellent track record of providing policy advice or technical cooperation services to government authorities at regional and international levels
Language skills:
Fluent written and spoken English is required
What you’ll do:
- Assisting in monitoring personal computers running the UN software delivery system to ensure that software distributions are being delivered correctly.
- Assisting in performing software distribution updates, scripting, testing and support.
- Performing research into new versions of centrally supported software and performs beta testing, production rollout and post production support.
- Performing 2nd level desktop troubleshooting in conjunction with the Help Desk.
- Maintaining and updates files (electronic and paper) and internal databases.
