Do you have a passion for technology and a desire to gain valuable experience in local government? Monroe County’s Information Services department is seeking a part-time intern to join our team. You’ll work alongside IT professionals, assisting with various tasks that support the county’s technology infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in computer science, information technology, or a related field (associate or bachelor’s level)
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to learn independently and follow instructions carefully
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
Responsibilities
- Assist IT staff with technical tasks such as data entry, user support, and equipment configuration (under supervision)
- Participate in ongoing IT projects as assigned
- Learn about the county’s technology infrastructure and gain exposure to various IT functions
- Troubleshoot basic technical problems under guidance
- Research and stay updated on emerging IT trends.
