International Foreign Language Education (IFLE): American Overseas Research Centers (AORC) Program Grant

Summary:
The AORC program, funded by the Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE), supports the establishment and operation of overseas research centers dedicated to postgraduate research, exchanges, and area studies. These centers promote foreign language proficiency, regional expertise, and international understanding.

Eligibility:

  • Consortia of institutions of higher education (IHEs) located in the United States are eligible to apply.
  • Consortia must include at least two IHEs, and at least one must be a Minority Serving Institution (MSI).
  • Each center must focus on a specific geographic region and cultural area.
