Dominion Energy is seeking a passionate Hydro E&I Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in the ever-evolving field of hydroelectric engineering and instrumentation. In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced professionals on projects related to hydropower generation, contributing to the efficient and reliable operation of our facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field (or have recently graduated).
  • A strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, including electricity, mechanics, and hydraulics.
  • Basic understanding of hydroelectric power generation principles is a plus.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in learning new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with the design, development, and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems for hydroelectric plants.
  • Participate in site visits to observe hydroelectric operations and gain firsthand experience.
  • Assist with data analysis related to hydroelectric plant performance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation for hydroelectric equipment and systems.
  • Stay up to date on advancements in hydroelectric technologies and industry best practices.
