Hydraulic Engineering Summer Internship 2024 at ITT Inc.
This internship at ITT Inc.’s Goulds Pumps division offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in the design and manufacturing of high-specification industrial pumps and monitoring equipment. You’ll work alongside industry experts on real-world projects, gaining valuable insight into the world of hydraulic engineering.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program in mechanical engineering and in good academic standing.
- Knowledge of Navier-Stokes CFD theory, including the finite volume method, solver algorithms, and turbulence modeling.
- Experience with applying CFD software like ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM for mesh generation, solver setup, and post-processing results.
- Proficiency in using CAD software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers and designers with research and development projects in hydraulic engineering.
- Perform, analyze, and document Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of centrifugal pumps.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of new processes for Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) workflows.
- Help optimize hydraulic design standards.
- Participate in other related tasks as assigned.
