Summary:

UNICEF is seeking a volunteer for the position of “HR Assistant” in Türkiye. The volunteer will support UNICEF’s Human Resources team in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and disability-inclusive programming. Responsibilities include developing DEI concepts, researching best practices, supporting talent outreach, organizing DEI learning sessions, and establishing a mechanism for reasonable accommodation requests. The assignment is for 12 months with a possibility of extension.

Requirements:

  • Secondary education.
  • Working knowledge in English.
  • Fluency in Turkish.
  • 1 years of experience in relevant area.
  • Demonstrated interest in and/or knowledge of broad range of human resources areas, e.g., staffing, training, and development.
  • Drive to be a change agent in DEI and commitment to effecting change across divergent groups.
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and able to contribute to the team. Ability to take initiative; use sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive or confidential data and information.
  • Good interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of internal & external partners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word among others), email and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; Have affinity with or interest in UNICEF’s work, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN system.
