Summary:

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme by the Research Grants Council (RGC) offers exceptional students the chance to pursue a PhD degree in any subject offered by participating universities in Hong Kong. This prestigious scholarship provides partial funding, including a generous annual stipend of HKD 331,200 and a travel allowance of HKD 13,800. The scheme is open to applicants of all nationalities.

Application Requirements:

• Eligible candidates must apply as new full-time Ph.D. students at one of the following universities: the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, or The University of Hong Kong.
• Applicants should demonstrate outstanding academic performance, research ability/potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities. The eligibility criteria are not based on the candidate’s country of origin, work experience, or ethnic background.

Fellowship Benefits:

• An annual stipend of HKD 331,200 (approximately US$42,460).
• A conference and research-related travel allowance of HKD 13,800 (approximately US$1,760) per year for up to three years.
