The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is offering grants to support projects that increase access and benefits of the humanities for underserved students in higher education.

- Public and private colleges & universities (undergraduate enrollment < 10,000)
- Community colleges
- Minority-Serving Institutions
- Rural colleges & universities
- Colleges with > 40% Pell Grant recipients
- Non-profit organizations
- State, local, and Tribal governments (supporting humanities)
What kinds of projects are funded?
- Curriculum development
- Faculty development
- Student research opportunities
- Creation of teaching resources
- Community engagement initiatives
Grant details:
- Funding amount: $1 – $60,000
- Application deadline: October 1, 2024

Help expand access to the humanities and empower the next generation of scholars!
- Grant awards:
- Exploration Grants: $25,000
- Development Grants: $60,000
- Eligible applicants:
- Two- and four-year institutions of higher education
- Nonprofit organizations
- State, local, or Native American Tribal governments
- Eligible institutions must:
- Have an undergraduate enrollment of less than 5,000 students (two-year institutions) or less than 10,000 students (four-year institutions)
- Be one of the following:
- Community college
- Minority-serving institution (MSI)
- Rural college or university
- College or university enrolling a majority (greater than 50%) of students receiving Pell grants
- Institution that has not received funding from the NEH Division of Education Programs since 2018
- Project activities:
- Curricular or program development
- Expert consultations
- Speakers’ series
- Student research
- Creation of teaching resources
- Community engagement
