Summary:

The High Commission of Canada in Guyana and Suriname is pleased to announce its annual call for proposals for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) for 2024-2025. The CFLI is designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries that align with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement.

Application Requirements:

  • Open to local, national, or community-based organizations (non-governmental and not-for-profit).
  • Applicants must be based in Guyana or Suriname.
  • Projects should be conceived and designed predominantly by local partners.
  • Collaborations with non-academic partners are allowed.
  • Encouragement for clinical academics to apply.
  • Mid-career researchers with substantial postdoctoral experience are eligible.

Benefits:

  • Funding of up to 50,000 Canadian Dollars (average CFLI contribution).
  • Support for pilot studies, data generation, and collaborative efforts.
