OVW Fiscal Year 2024 Grants to Indian Tribal Governments Program

Summary:

The OVW Tribal Governments Program, authorized by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), supports federally recognized tribal governments and their authorized designees in addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking within their communities. Through competitive grants, the program aims to:

  • Increase tribal capacity to respond to these violent crimes
  • Develop and strengthen victim services
  • Promote tribal sovereignty and self-determination in addressing violence against women
