Responsibilities
- Observe and participate in individual and group therapy sessions under the supervision of licensed clinicians.
- Contribute to client care activities as directed by the treatment team (may include assisting with assessments, treatment planning, and documentation).
- Attend treatment team meetings and case discussions to gain a deeper understanding of the treatment process.
- Participate in educational workshops and training sessions to enhance your clinical skills (potential).

Prerequisites
- Only applicants currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution will be considered.
- Students selected for the internship must submit the following documents before their start date:
- Affiliation Agreement between “Richard J. Caron Foundation” and your learning institution.
- PA State Police clearance.
- Department of Public Welfare ChildLine clearance.
- FBI Fingerprint-based Criminal History Background clearance.
- Proof of negative TB test.
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance.
- UDS (urine drug screen) to be scheduled by Caron.
- If your learning institution provides a General Liability Policy, “Richard J. Caron Foundation” must be listed as an additional insured.
- Attend a mandatory Internship Orientation to learn about:
- Caron’s learning goals and limitations for interns.
- Caron policies (reviewed by the Internship Program Coordinator).
- Mandatory trainings and any additional training opportunities.
- All interns are bound by Caron Treatment Centers’ Policies and Standards, including:
- Statement of Organizational Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy.
- Confidentiality of Patient Identifying Information Policy (signed by interns).
Location
The Graduate Level Internship will be located at the Caron Treatment Center facility in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.
Additional Information
- Internship hours are available year-round.
- Internship placements are offered with both adult and teen populations. Specific population requests may be considered but are not guaranteed.
- Caron does not allow interns to manage their own caseload of patients.
- Weekly individual supervision is provided.
