Global Policy Support Internship – UNEP

The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is offering a Global Policy Support Internship. This position is based in Geneva, Switzerland, with the possibility of remote work.

Responsibilities of Global Policy Support Internship

  • Research and Content Development:
    • Conduct desktop research on sustainable financial regulation and related themes, such as integrating climate and nature risks into banking regulation, corporate sustainability disclosure, transition plans, green taxonomies, and biodiversity-related policy developments.
    • Contribute to policy briefs on sustainable banking regulatory measures in various regions or jurisdictions, including the EU, APAC, and LATAM.
    • Support the delivery of country technical assistance mandates, such as green taxonomy development.
    • Assist in preparing information sessions, webinars, and events on selected regulatory developments.
    • Develop content related to personal research interests that align with the Policy team’s focus.
  • Project Management Support:
    • Assist in planning and preparing meetings and high-level events, including agenda setting, slide deck preparation, communications content, meeting setup, and minute-taking.
    • Support internal coordination across regional teams within the Global Policy Team.
    • Coordinate work with other thematic teams in UNEP FI, such as nature, climate, and net-zero initiatives.
    • Aid in internal and external communications, website updates, and organizing webinars and conferences with UNEP FI Signatories.
    • Research relevant funding opportunities and assist with the application process.

Eligibility Criteria Global Policy Support Internship

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
  • Have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
