Education & Qualifications Requirements:

  • Have a University degree in Urban Development
  • Have a master’s degree in Urban Development, geography, GIS, Urban Planning, and Design.

Work Experiences:

  • Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the field of sustainable development GIS, and spatial analysis.
  • Have Experience in drawing and preparing plan graphical material using computer-assisted design tools.
  • Have experience in urban planning projects.
  • Have experience in GIS software, data analysis, and map production.
  • Must have Experience in crisis post-conflict contexts.
  • Have Experience in working on social change projects.
  • Skilled in Leading, designing, and managing building processes.
  • Know understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Have experience in working with international agencies.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English language is Required (both oral and written).

Key Responsibilities Career:

  • Responsible Expert will report directly to the Head of the Urban Lab in Nairobi and to the designated program managers of the projects.
  • The Expert is responsible for supporting the implementation of several urban planning projects.
  • Must advise and work with the Urban Lab team to analyze, and collect urban projects.
  • Skilled in Developing analytical and diagnostic maps, drawings, graphics, and related reports.
  • Skilled in developing critical analysis of existing planning documents and instruments with GIS support.
  • Developing training materials for GIS, remote sensing, and data analysis.
  • Developing and organizing participatory, multi-stakeholder processes.
  • Must Provide technical recommendations to Urban Lab documents and publications.
