Future of Learning AI Grant

The Future of Learning: AI Grant (FLAG) 2024 is a program that encourages BU faculty and graduate teaching fellows to use generative AI technologies to enhance the learning experience of BU students. Generative AI can create new content from existing data, such as text, audio, or images, and can support various tasks, such as writing, coding, art, music, and video. This program aims to explore, design, and implement innovative pedagogical approaches using generative AI in different courses and programs.

  • Application requirements:

Applicants must be BU faculty or graduate teaching fellows who want to experiment with AI technologies to improve the BU student experience. Applicants must submit a proposal that describes the project goals, methods, outcomes, and evaluation plan.

  • Benefits:

Selected applicants will receive up to $5,000 for project expenses, such as technology licenses, student wages, or other costs. They will also have the opportunity to join an online generative AI community of practice, and to share their project results and feedback at various events and platforms.

  • Type:

This is a pedagogical grant that supports the use of generative AI in teaching and learning.

  • Award and location:

The award amount is up to $5,000 per project. The location is Boston University, USA.

  • Deadline:

There is no specific deadline for this program. Proposals are accepted monthly and reviewed by the leads of the three DL&I units. The expected response time is two weeks.
