Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting or a related field (minimum sophomore year preferred for internships, full-time enrollment for co-ops)
- Strong academic performance with a focus on accounting coursework
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (general ledger, accounts payable/receivable)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Assist senior accounting professionals with various tasks, including accounts payable/receivable processing, data entry, and bank reconciliations.
- Gain exposure to different accounting functions relevant to the construction industry, such as job costing and project accounting (potential).
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes (as appropriate).
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports for internal management.
- Utilize accounting software used by Fischer Homes (training provided).
