Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting or a related field (minimum sophomore year preferred for internships, full-time enrollment for co-ops)
  • Strong academic performance with a focus on accounting coursework
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential)
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles (general ledger, accounts payable/receivable)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior accounting professionals with various tasks, including accounts payable/receivable processing, data entry, and bank reconciliations.
  • Gain exposure to different accounting functions relevant to the construction industry, such as job costing and project accounting (potential).
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes (as appropriate).
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports for internal management.
  • Utilize accounting software used by Fischer Homes (training provided).
