Education & Qualifications Requirements:

Education:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor’s degree in Finance, university degree in Political Science or Development Economics, or a university degree in Public International Relations (or equivalent qualification).

Experience:

  • Minimum:
    • At least 2 years of experience in financial or program support functions.
    • Experience working with UN rules and regulations concerning administration, finance, and procurement.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working within the United Nations system.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Working knowledge of relevant financial management systems is a plus.
  • Financial Management: Strong skills in ensuring accurate and complete financial records. Ability to classify transactions in the appropriate chartfield according to UNU guidelines.
  • Communication & Reporting: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Skilled in drafting clear and concise reports, presentations, and communications related to financial data. Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Organization & Workflow: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to contribute to initiatives for improving financial workflows and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records by collecting and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Classify accounting transactions according to the appropriate UNU chartfield.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, or other tools to effectively present financial information to management.
  • Contribute to initiatives for improving financial efficiency and productivity.
  • File and archive supporting financial documents according to UNU guidelines.
