The Office of Innovation (OIN) is FAO’s operating force for innovation, helping to transform the Organization’s work and reshape the future of food and agriculture.

As an OIN team member, you will work these critical roles:
  • Identifying and strengthening priority areas for collective action
  • Ensuring that innovation is mainstreamed in FAO’s programs
  • Facilitating cross-collaboration between FAO units
  • Forging and reinforcing transformative partnerships

You will work in a vibrant and collaborative team at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy.

FAO Technical Expertise and Support

  • Provide technical experience and advice on planning, development, and implementation of programs, projects, products, and services.
    • Holding up program development and implementation by identifying priorities and liaising with relevant parties.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops to assist clients with action plans.
  • Conducting surveys and analyzing responses to identify problems and issues.
  • Coordinating and reviewing assessments of issues and problems to implement programs and projects and prepare impact evaluations.
  • Leading the preparation of ready outputs, such as background papers, analysis, and reports.
  • Contributing to meetings and conferences by proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, and preparing documents and presentations.

Main Requirements

  • Has a university degree in Behavioral Science, Behaviour Economics, Communication for Development, or Sociology.
  • More than Five years of relevant experience in technical preparation and analysis on strategic and risk communication and community engagement in sectors related to the work environment of FAO.
  • English Language Skill and another FAO agent language “Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish”.

 

Technical | Qualified Skills

 

  • Has Experience in more than one location or sector of work, especially in field positions.
  • Qualification of professional training in change management in the United Nations “UN”.
  • Importance of experience in the national and international environments including field locations that enable the use of new communication techniques as well as behavior change techniques.
  • importance of experience in technical advice and analysis on behavior change technique, risk management, and change communication & management.
  • importance of expertise in working with technical sectors and integrative teams to enable innovation and change.
