Eugen Singer Award Scholarship

The Eugen Singer Award was established with a generous gift from Mrs. Josephine Singer in memory of her late husband, Eugen Singer. It is offered to students who are pursuing a graduate research degree in the study of polymers and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances. Eugen Singer himself was a chemical engineer known for his work in precision engineering related to the production and processing of polymers.

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, you must:

• Be undertaking a higher degree by research in a field related to the study of polymers, including their production and processing at the University of Melbourne; and
• Have submitted an online application consisting of a personal statement describing the research topic, student’s financial situation and how the funds would be used to benefit their research

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

• Academic merit – which will be assessed via the personal statement and supporting documents (CV, most recent progress report, peer-reviewed publications, supervisor’s statement) to evaluate the strength of the applicant’s research; and
• Financial need- which will be assessed via the personal statement and submission of the 2024 FEIT Student Financial Assessment form
