Job Description:

The Game Presentation + Entertainment Internship at the Reading Royals offers an exciting opportunity for recent or soon-to-be college graduates to kickstart their professional journey in the sports industry. As an intern, you will play a vital role in executg all game night elements, providing fans with an unforgettable experience from the moment the doors open until the post-game tear down. Our focus is to deliver exceptional in-game entertainment, ensuring fans are eager to return and experience something new at every game. The internship offers flexible hours to accommodate your schedule, with a start time in either all 2023 or Winter 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Creative Director to generate fresh and engaging ideas, pitching funny and unconventional concepts to keep our game presentation lively and enjoyable.
• Develop scripts and prompts for skits that feature fans and the team mascot.
• Act as a secondary mascot when required, enhancing the on-ice experience for fans.
• Assist in game day preparations, including concourse set-up, organizing intermission activities, fulfilling in-game sponsorships, managing promotional items, and more.
• Contribute to the execution of pre-game elements and intermission activities to ensure seamless entertainment flow.
• Assist with tear-down or turnover preparations for upcoming games.
• Adhere to all arena policies and procedures while undertaking any additional duties assigned by management.
• Maintain an organized inventory of promotional materials, costumes, and giveaways in the promo closet.
• Demonstrate full commitment to the organization’s activities and treat them with sincerity, while also providing constructive feedback to your supervisor for continuous improvement.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Availability to work all 36 home games or as many games as possible throughout the season.
• A portfolio showcasing photos or videos of fan engagement activities would be highly valued.
• Outgoing personality and comfort in interacting with and being around crowds of people.
• Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Adaptability and excellent time management skills.
• Exceptional verbal communication abilities.
