Education & Qualifications Requirements:

Education:

  • Minimum: Diploma of secondary education or equivalent qualification.
  • Preferred: Secondary education (high school/vocational school) with coursework or certifications in:
    • Microsoft Windows (Windows 7/10/11)
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Office 2010 or later versions, including Office Online)
    • IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL v3 or v4

Experience:

  • Minimum:
    • At least 2 years of experience providing IT service desk support to end users in an international environment.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience working with UN rules and regulations concerning administration, finance, and procurement.
    • Experience working within the United Nations system is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Working knowledge of IT service management methodologies, preferably ITIL.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
    • Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or German) is a desirable asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive IT support to UNU personnel, addressing their technical needs and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Manage service administration tasks related to end-user support systems and tools.
  • Perform basic desktop administration duties as assigned.
  • Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as directed by your supervisor.
