- Admitted to a Ph.D. program in Economics at one of the AERC CPP universities (listed below):

- University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- University of Benin, Nigeria
- Félix Houphouet-Boigny University, Côte d’Ivoire
- University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal
- University of Ibadan, Nigeria
- University of Nairobi, Kenya
- University of Yaoundé II, Cameroon
- University of Pretoria, South Africa
- University of Witwatersrand, South Africa
- Hold a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- Possess a Master’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field with coursework in microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods, and econometrics.
- Demonstrated interest in economic research and development (publications or experience in the public sector a plus).
- Female applicants and those from post-conflict/fragile states are strongly encouraged to apply!

Who is Eligible?
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of a Francophone or Anglophone country in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Academic Background: Hold a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent qualification in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
- Master’s Degree: Possess a Master’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field from a recognized university. Your coursework should have covered microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative methods, and econometrics.
- Research and Experience: Demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to economic research and development in Africa. Publications in peer-reviewed journals or prior experience working in economic management or research within the public sector are considered valuable assets.
