Donovan-Johnston Memorial Scholarship

The Donovan-Johnston Memorial Scholarship was established by the late Kathleen Mary Johnston. It aims to support full-time residential students enrolling in the Doctor of Medicine program at the University of Melbourne. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students who have relocated from family residences located at least 80 kilometers from GPO Melbourne. The scholarship is paid as a bursary to support accommodation and living costs during the degree.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

• Be an outstanding enrolled graduate researcher of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences
• Be a medical graduate enrolled in a graduate research degree in the Melbourne Medical School
• Attend education courses conducted by or in association with the Royal College of Surgeons of England OR
• Participate in a clinical attachment to one or more hospitals within the UK recognised for training towards fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England
• Satisfy the Faculty’s entry requirements for PhD

Selection Criteria

Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of academic merit, the faculty scholarship score, demonstrated skill in the relevant research area, career aspiration and the terms and conditions of the trust.

The selection committee will base its assessment on the application form, academic transcripts, the faculty scholarship score, the student’s project proposal, CV and referee reports.
