Summary:
The assignment is for a Disability Inclusion and Engagement Officer in Nepal, starting on April 15, 2024. The role aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions) and is hosted by UNICEF. It is an onsite assignment with a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
The officer will support the strengthening of meaningful youth and adolescent engagement, participation, skills, inclusive education, and employability related to persons with disabilities in the South Asia Region. Key functions include providing technical and capacity building support, supporting program development and planning, advocating for disability inclusion and partnership building, and contributing to innovation and knowledge management. Additionally, the UN Volunteer is encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers program mandate and engage with communities to promote voluntary action.

Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in social sciences (i.e., sociology, political science, social policy, or economics), public health, public policy, public administration, international development.
- Fluency in Nepalese and English.
- 3 years of experience in having undertaken and led programming and/or research on youth development and disability inclusion.
- Academic credentials in youth development and disability inclusion are a strong asset.
- Experience in designing, implementing, managing, and delivering results-based programmes/projects on disability and youth engagement programming.
- Fluency in English is required; Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
- Sound knowledge in community development, education, elections and governance and social work.
- Candidate must be a national or legal resident of Nepal.
