Northwestern Mutual internship program offers a full-time on-site experience for selected candidates, spanning from June 2024 to August 2024.
Chosen from various universities nationwide, Northwestern Mutual interns bring unique ideas and perspectives to the organization. Northwestern Mutual has a dedicated focus on nurturing and developing emerging talents and future leaders. Following the application process and initial screening conversation, interns undergo interviews and are subsequently hired for specific teams at Northwestern Mutual that align with their skillsets and interests. This approach provides them with the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to real-world business perspectives, engaging in hands-on learning and meaningful projects.
In addition to their assigned tasks, interns actively participate in professional development workshops, engage in Q&A sessions with senior leadership, contribute to volunteer initiatives, and attend networking and social events, among other enriching experiences.
As an intern in Corporate Strategy, you will collaborate closely with the Corporate Strategy team and cross-functional teams within Northwestern Mutual to successfully execute projects that are vital to the organization’s success. Your role will involve actively participating in driving projects forward and analyzing data from internal and external sources to generate valuable business insights. Additionally, you will support the Corporate Strategy team in delivering impactful outcomes that address business challenges and foster growth. Through collaboration, you will contribute to the creation of project deliverables and provide valuable input and guidance. Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a focus on business from an accredited college or university (preference for rising juniors).
- Maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Previous experience in accounting, business analytics, economics, finance, investment, marketing, entrepreneurship, project management, statistics, strategy, or organizational management, gained through work or classroom settings.
Preferred skills and proficiencies:
- Self-motivated individual with a strong drive for achieving outcomes, resourcefulness, analytical thinking, innovation, and intellectual curiosity.
- Capability to contribute to projects that entail complex decision-making and provide support for project management.
- Experience in conducting market and competitive research, employing both quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex subjects to diverse and large audiences.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Software Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
