The 6th International Conference on European Economics and Politics will be held on June 20-21, 2024, at the Swiss Economic Institute (KOF) in ETH Zurich. The conference is jointly organized by various institutions, including the Center for European Studies (CefES-DEMS), Swiss Economic Institute (KOF), European Institute (London School of Economics and Political Science), Joint Research Center (JRC, European Commission), Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies (EUI), Rimini Center for Economic Analysis – Europe (RCEA Europe ETS), and Bocconi Lab for European Studies (BLEST). It aims to bring together economists and political scientists to discuss European socio-economic issues and contribute to the empirical and theoretical debate on Europe.

Requirements:

The conference invites submissions on various topics, including macro, money, banking, and finance; European governance; wellbeing, inequality, and polarization; migration, cooperation, and trade; climate change and energy policies; and the economic, social, and political impact of COVID-19 and Russia’s war in Ukraine. Scholars from different fields in Economics and Social Sciences are encouraged to participate.

Qualifications:

The conference welcomes economists and political scientists interested in the European economic, social, and political situation, as well as the evaluation and design of institutions and policies in Europe. It particularly focuses on the North-South, East-West, and Rural-Urban divide in Europe.

The conference will take place on June 20-21, 2024, at the Swiss Economic Institute (KOF), ETH Zurich.

Keynote Speakers:

The keynote speakers for the conference are Lucrezia Reichlin from the London Business School and Dustin Tingley from Harvard University.

Deadlines:

The paper submission deadline is April 10, 2024. Notification of acceptance will be sent by April 30, 2024. Registration is open from May 1-10, 2024, with a late registration period from May 11-20, 2024.

Registration Fee:

The standard registration fee is €250 for senior researchers and €130 for PhD students. Late registration fees are €500 for senior researchers and €260 for PhD students.
